RIBCRAFT 6.8 OFFSHORE TEAM PHILIPS JET SUPPORT BOATS
Ribcraft were proud to supply Team Philips with two Ribcraft 6.8 Metre Offshore boats. These boats both powered by Yanmar Diesel Inboards and Coupled to Hamilton 241 Jet drive units. Team Philips was constructed by Goss Challenges (Pete Goss) for the unique round the world challenge "The Race".
The boats were used as general support to the catamaran with the primary role to propel her from the construction yard in Totnes down river to Dartmouth and then out to sea.
Jet drives were selected as the river is very shallow in places. The Ribcraft Support boats also followed her by sea to London to escort her down the Thames to be named by the Queen.
Unfortunately Team Phillips was destroyed by a storm on trails and never entered the Race.
